LUCKY GAME
The word ‘game’ revolves around virtually everything in human
dealings. Every day activities from any angle of its preview served as a
reflection of the concept ‘game’ because it’s a two way thing i.e. win or lose.
Game in its practical sense manifests the act of tussle between two different
groups with the sole of aim of coming out with the same motive; to win.
By these explanation, it connotes that game is a
practicable thing in totality. In sports, daily practice was put in place to
ensure the readiness for the game. In politics, the intending officer maps out
different strategies in order to outshine its running mate. In religion, the inculcation
of the teachings and preaching as a yardstick for making heaven is a
practicable experience. Globalization and the economic transformation –
downturn/rise is a manifestation of a game due to the influence of the mighty
nations on the crawling nations.
Nevertheless, there is a magical touch that lies beyond the
control of human’s input/performance/skills in any game i.e. LUCK. Luck does
not pertain with one’s level of input into the game; it therefore comes on a
platter of easiness. Sometimes in a game of life, the mighty ones falls and the
unexpected rose to stardom. Although, game of life needs more than just LUCK
but its effects cannot be underestimated. The historiography of football
matches from earliest time till date is a practicable example of this saying.
However, the game of luck had manifestations in world
history today. The installation of Goodluck Jonathan as the first president
from the Eastern part of Nigeria is a living example. The feat achieved by Barrack
Obama in the United State of America today, the number of prisoners awaiting
death granted bail to lead nation are examples to mention but a few. Thus, the
game of life needs more than talents to triumph in the hurdles on the way.
To the
making of history, today’s game ain’t a lucky one for me.
